Dr. Angel Muñoz
MD, MPH
Dr. Ángel Muñoz is a distinguished specialist in neonatal-perinatal medicine, fluent in Spanish, English, and Italian. He completed fellowships in Neonatology at Albert Einstein Medical Center and Muscle Disorders in Children at Southwestern Medical School, following his pediatric residency at Driscoll Children’s Hospital.
With a Master of Public Health from the University of Texas, Houston, and a medical degree from the National University of Mexico, Dr. Muñoz served as Director of Neonatology at Memorial Hermann Northeast. Throughout his career, he held prestigious roles, including Chief of Staff, and was named Physician of the Year in 2007.
A prolific author in The Journal of Pediatrics and a member of multiple medical associations, Dr. Muñoz’s work has been featured in over 100 articles. In recognition of his contributions, Memorial Hermann NE named their NICU the “Angel Munoz, MD, MPH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit” after him in 2017.
Dr. Muñoz’s dedication to the Lake Houston Community also earned him the Northeast Foundation’s “Pink” Breast Cancer Awareness honoree title in 2017.
